Victorian Christmas Crafts and Customs
4th Dec 2018
Today the Primary 7s visited Ranfurly House to experience the customs and traditions of a Victorian Christmas - we made decorations from the tree and learned about other items that Victorians used to decorate their homes at Christmas. After lunch we met with Mrs Anderson, the housekeeper for Lord Northland of Northland Row and she explained how different a Victorian Christmas was compared to nowadays. We enjoyed playing with the Victorian toys, smelling the smelling salts and played some very funny games, including 'HA HA, HE HE, HO HO!' All in all a very enjoyable day to get us into the Christmas mood!
