Terrific Tangrams

Tangrams are an ancient form of art originating from China. The Chinese puzzle consisting of 7 shapes or "tans" fitted together to make a square. The seven shapes are 2 large right triangles, 1 medium sized right triangle, 2 small right triangles, 1 small square and 1 parallelogram. We used the shapes to make other 2D shapes that had to fit into an exact frame. The tasks were tricky but the next stage was more enjoyable. We used the tans to make our own pictures and added them to our display board.
