It was with a lot of emotion today that we said good bye to our P7 Class of 2020 in small, socially distanced groups. Without doubt, they are a group we will never forget - COVID19 and our Rainbow Children of 2020.
For us, they have made a mark on the life of St Patrick's PS that will never fade; from their brilliant stage antics for our school shows to the impact they have made on the lives of our Primary 1 children this year as their 'Buddies.' Truly, they helped these children learn to read, listen and follow instructions but most of all, they were the friends that our Primary 1 children ran into school to hug each day before class began. I can only guess how challenging it will be when they return to us as P2s in September only to find social distancing and hand washing peppering their daily existence from now on but also their best buddy is no longer here and they never got to say 'Good Bye.'
