Closing Celebrations for Year 1 of Shared Education with Orchard County PS.
125 Primary 5 and Primary 6 pupils from St Patrick's PS and Orchard County PS and staff from both schools joined to celebrate the end of the first year of Shared Education between both our schools. This year's focus was STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through ICT with our target of developing Coding as on both our School Development Plans for this year.
The children have spend 33 hours together over Term 2 and 3 this year and have developed friendships as well as their knowledge and understanding of Coding in ICT. Our staffs have shared laughs, stories, expertise and formed friendships that are the foundations for a partnership that will extend far beyond the limits of the Shared Education Programme.
2018/19 will see the development of Coding through Robotics for Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils and we are extending the programme to include Primaries 1 - 3 in Play and Primary 4 and 5 in World Around Us Shared Theme of Castles.
With the support of all our parents and our Governors as well as both Staffs we are excited at the plans for next year which we will share with parents and Governors early in September/October 2018.
Many thanks to Steph from EA who guided us brilliantly through the first year of forms, evaluations and application for funding for year 2.
Finally, a huge "Thank You" to the super pupils who make such ventures an absolute joy to be involved in.
